Our Story

At Out Yonder Excursions, we are passionate about showcasing the breathtaking beauty and ecological importance of the tidal salt marshes around Charleston, SC.

Captain Chris Rapchick, grew up on James Island and graduated from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, before heading off to the FL Keys, Southeast Alaska, and the US Virgin Islands to run fishing charters, scuba dive and explore off the beaten path sweet spots.  After returning to Charleston, SC to be close to family, he realized it was time to share his passion for the marsh and exploring remote spots allowing his guests to get a behind the scenes look at why the Lowcountry estuary is so incredible and important.

Our mission is to give our guests the experience of a true local going off the beaten path where you probably won't run into anyone except some birds and critters.

Out Yonder Excursions provides immersive eco-tours that educate guests on the unique wildlife and delicate ecosystems of our waterways, all while steering clear of the typical tourist paths.
